She is so serious sometimes! She decorated a cookie here (at the school fall festival) and then wouldn't eat it!
After her end of the year cheerleading party at Chick-Fil-A --- she's a heart princess.
We got to go to the Chattanooga Zoo on Thursday night for the American Lung Association's Asthma Walk. Abby had a great time - she got her face painted, plenty of candy, a free walk thru the zoo, and free Krystals after the walk was over. Fun was had by all!So, hubby and I have decided to bite the bullet and get very serious about "going green". The only problem that we face is the fact that in our little town......there's no recycling facility except for 30 minutes away - which in my opinion kinda defeats the purpose of being green, because you are using extra gas to get to the recycle center. I guess hubby will end up going to drop off our recyclables (is that the right word?) on his way to work (we'll see how that works out!)?
We've started our own compost bucket (can't wait to see how that smells in a few days! eeekkk) and we have a container on the back porch that we are putting all our paper, plastic, and glass in. We've recycled aluminum for years because you actually get $ for that. For about the last 6 months, we've been utilizing the reusable shopping bags that are available at Food Lion, Bi-Lo, and WalMart*, among other retailers. I don't know if anyone else has gotten the weird looks from people that I have gotten when I am going into or coming out of the store (with the shopping bags), but people look at me like I am some sort of tree huggin' Grateful Dead groupie that is out to singlehandedly save Mother Earth! That is not me at all. I'm just thinking forward a few years, and I want to do my part to leave a better place for our next generation.
Speaking of, if hubby and I are planning on having some raised beds for a very small garden next year....what are some things that we need to be doing to be prepared for planting time? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Alrighty, first of all, I have to say I am very disappointed by the lack of responses to my challenge! Where's all my gals to give some good creative advice?? Nonetheless, the costume is coming along somewhat nicely, thanks to my handy hubby!

Secondly, my little miss brainiac got her first real report card (ya know, no silly S+, etc - we're talking REAL # grades), and she got star roll! Yea!!! She doesn't know it yet, but her reward for that will be getting to go see "High School Musical 3" on opening night. Woo-hoo, Momma is so psyched about that!?!

Lastly, I was wondering if I should fall for all of the "Twilight" hype? It seems like everyone around me (of all ages) just LOVES the books. So, I wasn't sure if they are really that good or if it's just because they have gotten so much publicity. Let me know your thoughts on this please!
I need some suggestions on how to make the above box and tube into a juice box (Abby wants to be a juice box for Halloween). Obviously I will use the tube to make a straw coming out on the box that will slip over Abby's head and there will be holes for her arms as well.....but those of you who know me, know that I have some serious shortcomings when it comes to crafty things!
